Dear Colleagues, Parents, Students and Valued members of the Sydney Catholic Schools community,
We commit ourselves For many years, all schools in NSW, and in particular our Catholic schools in Sydney, have developed a range of policies and procedures to ensure that a strong, robust ‘circle of safety’ surrounds each and every one of the children in our care. As prime educators of our students, we invite parents to join with us in ensuring that our communities are places where children are safe and can flourish.
This updated Child Safe Communities Framework reaffirms our system’s determination to uphold the existing values and practices in our schools that create safe and effective learning environments for all students. The framework incorporates the recommended advice from the Royal Commission and it will continue to refine and enhance our culture of keeping children safe and secure in Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Sydney.
The SCS Framework will also ensure that we continue to strengthen our links with our parishes, Church agencies as well as parents and other community groups. This is core to our vision as we collectively continue to foster a culture of child safety and wellbeing in our communities.
Working together with parents, parishes and schools we will continue to ensure that the safety and wellbeing of all our children is paramount at all times.
As an educator and a parent, I consider it a privilege to work in an organisation that puts child safety first, and that has at the core of its mission the values of the Catholic Church.
Thank you for your continued support of our Sydney Catholic School community and the safety of our young people.
